Alderman (of St Pancras Borough Council), property developer and pioneer of flats for ladies.
A son of Polish immigrants, he and his 5 brothers prospered in property development, initially in East London and then in Islington, Marylebone and St Pancras. 1914 he founded the Lady Workers' Homes Ltd.
Davis owned the London Garden Suburbs Ltd, a development company, which in January 1923 bought the 55 acres now known as Holly Lodge. He also owned the Central London Building Company Ltd, which soon began work on the site. Davis is credited as the architect of the parade of shops in Swains Lane.

His family: father Wolf, brothers: the eldest Maurce (Moses), Israel, Hyman, Nathaniel, Raphael (Ralph), David. His wife Helena. Their children Ruth, Irene, Winifred, and twins Josephine and Godfrey, and the youngest son, Arthur. His successor was surveyor Frank Myers, Josephine's husband.
