Alfred Turner

Sculptor. Other works in London include: Fishergirl and Fisherman in the staircase niches at Fishmonger's Hall; three bas-reliefs in Portland stone in the main entrance of the Old Bailey; a memorial to John Constable in the crypt of St Paul's Cathedral. Wikipedia lists 6 other war memorials by Turner, all outside London and unusually all different. Two daughters: Jessica and Winifred. Died London.

There is an American artist Alfred M. Turner (–1932) who, on the web, is often confused with our sculptor. AMT's paintings are traditional and "chocolate-boxy" compared with AT's sculptures.
