Motorcycle road racer. Born Beryl Tolman. In 1962 she was the first woman to compete in the Isle of Man TT race. This upset the male-dominated world of motorcycle racing, and she was banned from future races because she was unable to meet the newly-introduced minimum weight limit. This ban, effectively on female riders, lasted until 1978. She moved to a less exciting career, working in Sainsbury's.
