Caxton Hall

Caxton Hall

Originally designed as the Westminster City Hall. It was associated with the Suffragettes, who started their marches to Parliament from here. 1940 was assassinated at a meeting here by an Indian revolutionary in retaliation for the Jallianwala Bagh, or Amritsar, massacre. Many famous people were married in the register office, including Elizabeth Taylor, Mick Jagger and Ringo Starr. Closed in 1977 and eventually converted into flats. More information at .
