Treasurer and a governor of Guys Hospital and of St Thomas's Hospital. At Guy's he was on the committee to erect the statue to Guy and in his will he left money for the brass statue of Edward VI at St Thomas's.

His name is sometimes given as Ioye or Toye or Joyce.
