Charlotte Lund Andersen

An international products manager from Stillwater, Oklahoma. Killed in the Ladbroke Grove rail disaster, aged 32.

Andrew Behan has kindly carried out further research: Charlotte Lund Andersen was born on 27 January 1967 and, three years before her death, came to the UK from Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA to work in Slough, Buckinghamshire. She was of Danish extraction with many of her family still living in Denmark, but her parents, Per and Birgit Andersen and younger sister Tina, were from Virginia, USA. She lived in Shrewsbury Mews, Notting Hill, and died, aged 32 years, when travelling to work as a product manager in Slough, Berkshire, in the front carriage of the 8.06am Thames Trains Turbo train from Paddington to Bedwyn, Wiltshire, that collided with the 6.03am First Great Western High Speed Train from Cheltenham Spa to Paddindton at Ladbroke Grove on 5 October 1999 resulting in her being thrown onto the tracks. At the subsequent inquest it was recorded she died from multiple injuries and that her death was instantaneous. She was identified by her clothing and jewellery and was cremated in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea on 13 October 1999.
