Cheistha Kochhar

Born in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India, Cheistha Kochhar was a PhD student at the London School of Economics. She had already worked in a range of roles including business start-ups and with various government bodies in India.

Using a Forest e-bike to cycle with her husband, from the LSE to home, she was in Clerkenwell Road near the junction with Farringdon Road when she was hit by a bin lorry, and died at the scene.

As of 26 March the driver of the lorry was helping the Met Police with their inquiries but no arrests had yet been made.

As we write (April 2024) has a quote from her which includes: "And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer."
