Clapham - Old Coroners Court

Built 1899-1901 to serve two functions: Coroners Court: 1901 - 1930, and LCC Weights and Measures Office: 1901 - 1932.

There is a separate building at the back (west) of the plot, now called the Coach House but surely this was the mortuary, where the bodies were kept. This shows that it was accessed via a drive to the south of the main building.

Sources include: , (lots of photos with the rooms fully dressed for sale.)

This close-up of the entrance sculpture was taken in 2021 by Charles Watson.

The society's website doesn't specify when it came into existence. It contains a number of 'journals', the oldest of which is dated 1980, so maybe it dates from then.
