Donald Robert Prevost

Donald Robert Prevost was born on 27 May 1922 the eldest of the three children of Robert Henry William Prevost (1894-1972) and Daisy Alice Prevost née Poole (1896-1976). His birth was registered in the 2nd quarter of 1922 in the Wandsworth Registration District, London. On 2 July 1922 he was baptised in St Andrew's Church, Garratt Lane, Earlsfield, Wandsworth, where in the baptismal registers his family were shown to be living at 5 Openview, Earlsfield, Wandsworth and that his father was an accountant. His two siblings were: Kathleen M. Prevost (b.1925) and Christine Ann Prevost (1933-2021)

Electoral registers until 1929 confirm his parents were still listed at 5 Openview, Wandsworth, but from 1932 they were shown at Trevena, Great North Way, Hendon, Middlesex (now Greater London).

In the 1939 England and Wales Register he was shown as a clerk, insurance industry, residing at 94 Great North Way, Hendon, with his parents, his two siblings and his maternal grandmother, Emmeline Poole (1857-1941). His father was listed as a clerk, insurance industry (Lloyds).

He married Audrey Balmer (1926-1977) in the 3rd quarter of 1950 in the Newcastle upon Tyne Registration District, Northumberland (now Tyne & Wear), and their daughter, Caroline M. Prevost was born in 1959.

Electoral registers from 1952 list him and his wife at 102 Walmington Fold, London, N12

He was killed in the Moorgate tube disaster that took place on 28 February 1975. Probate records confirm that he died, aged 52 years, on 1 March 1975 (this was probably the date his body was recovered) and that his address remained as 102 Walmington Fold, Woodside Park, London, N12. His death was registered in the 2nd quarter of 1975 in the London City Registration District. Probate was granted on 4 June 1975 and his effects totalled £29,564.

It is . He is shown as 'PREVOST, DONALD' on the Moorgate tube disaster memorial in Finsbury Square, London, EC2.
