Donald Swann

Composer, pianist and entertainer. Born Donald Ibrahim Swann at 27 Coleshill Terrace, Llanelli, Wales. His mother was a Muslim Azerbaijani. He is best remembered for his partnership with Michael Flanders and their two highly successful shows 'At the Drop of a Hat' and 'At the Drop of Another Hat'. These shows featured comic numbers such as 'The Hippopotamus Song' and 'The Gnu Song'. Died at Trinity Hospice, Clapham.
