Murder victim. He was a promising footballer, and had won a scholarship at the Oxford United Football Academy. Aged 17 he was visiting two friends in Stamford Hill, when they were attacked by four men. Lawson was stabbed in the heart and collapsed and died shortly afterwards. In 2011 one of the four attackers was later found guilty of . The Godwin Lawson Foundation which bears his name, exists to promote awareness of the effects of knife crime.
