James Warren

Initially he was a merchant, but, although not trained for it, he became interested in engineering. With Willoughby Monzani he developed the Warren Truss, which became an integral feature of many bridges.

Born London. Lived at Montague Terrace, Mile End Road, which comprised numbers 439-491. Died London.

 The first suspension bridge to utilise a Warren truss in its design was the Manhattan Bridge in New York City.

His gives him dates (1806–1908) which have him living to 102.
