Jennie Lee

Politician. Born Janet Lee in Loghgelly, Fife. Entered parliament in 1929, becoming the youngest member of the house. She played a leading part in the founding of the Open University and the expansion of the Arts Council of Great Britain. She was married to Aneurin Bevan. Died at her home, 67 Chester Row, Chelsea.
