John Galliford Webber

Born near Barnstaple, Devon. From the picture source website: "7 years 2nd Life Guards, London. Licencee Hare & Hounds South Molton & then ran Clockmaker & Gunsmith shop in East St. ( now part of Tiverton Inn). Father of William Mark Webber, Bailiff & museum founder member. 'G W when a boy of 16yrs old. Height 6 ft. Weight 13st & 8lbs. A fine lad'. Model for the Lifeguard at base of Wellington's statue in Hyde Park.
