Contractor in marble work, responsible for the design and execution of works such as the drinking fountains for the Metropolitan Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association. Based at Imperial Works, Kennington Oval.

Joseph James Whitehead (18 January 1868 – 17 January 1951) sculptor and stonemason. Born Birmingham, the oldest son of John Whitehead (1845–1904), also a sculptor. His younger brother John, born 1876 in London, also worked in the business. Joseph died at Creek House, Barton-on-Sea, Hampshire. More information at .
