Surgeon. Born Russell Claude Brock at 840 Old Kent Road, London. While working in America he developed an interest in thoracic surgery. He pioneered several new techniques, including open-heart surgery. and . Died in Guy's Hospital, London.

The Lord Brock Memorial Trust (inactive by 2021) was set up to preserve Britain’s oldest surviving operating theatre for the public.
