Michael Rysbrack

Also known as John Michael or Johannes Michel or Jan Michiel Rysbrach or Rijsbrack. Born Antwerp (which probably explains the confusion).
Sculptor of busts and funerary monuments of many prominent people, including Isaac Newton, Robert Walpole and the Duke of Marlborough. Died at home in Vere Street, Marylebone in relative poverty due to his generosity to relations and to his passion for collecting prints and drawings.
