Mrs Charlotte Budd

Charlotte Swain was born in 1787 and on 5 August 1805 she married Henry Budd (1787-1862) at St Nicholas Church, Brighton, Sussex. They had six children: Richard Budd (1806-1830), Charlotte Budd (1808-1854), Henry Budd (b.1809), William Budd (1811-1888), Edward Budd (1812-1890), and Emmeline Budd (1826-1851).

The 1841 census shows that she was living at Marine Parade, Brighthelmstone, Kemptown, Sussex, (now called Brighton), with her husband, her son Edward Budd, her two daughters Charlotte and Emmeline, and two female servants.

She died, aged 60 years, on 30 January 1848 at home in 35 Russell Square. London and was buried on 17 February 1848 at St Matthew's Church, Brixton.
