Neil A. Armstrong

Neil Alden Armstrong. Apollo astronaut who walked on the moon.

On the recording of Armstrong, as he sets foot on the moon, after his famous “That's one small step …” there’s a little-known comment, he says “There you go, Mr Watson, have fun”.  It was only many years later that Armstrong was persuaded to explain this.  As a young boy, awake late one night, he’d heard his neighbours, Mr and Mrs Watson, arguing.  It finished with Mrs Watson saying “ The day I give you **** *** is the day that boy next door walks on the moon!”
