Penton Estate

Place

Built by Henry Penton in the late 1700s, possibly London's first planned suburb. The estate was completed around 1820. A few of the original houses survive in Chapel Market. A of sale particulars titled 'Penton Estate: 750 commercial and residential properties, N1 and WC1' dated May 1951 is held by the National Archives.
