Richard Sheepshanks

Astronomer. Trained as a barrister and also as a Church of England minister. But he inherited enough wealth that he instead was a practicing astronomer at Trinity College Cambridge. Publicly criticized Charles Babbage.

He had six children from a relationship with an Irish dancer. Was grandfather to Walter Sickert and Helena Swanwick.
