Group

A corps of the British Army. It provides military engineering and other technical support to the British Armed Forces. Known as 'sappers' from the French 'sappe' meaning 'spadework' or 'trench' but it's not in our French dictionary so perhaps it's obsolete. They date back to the time of William the Conqueror.
