Sir Francis Burdett

Born Derbyshire. Inherited the baronetcy from his grandfather. Married an heir of the Coutts banking family. From the ODNB: "When in London, the Burdetts lived at 1 Stratton Street (the home of Thomas Coutts) from 1793 to 1802, at 78 Piccadilly from 1802 to 1816, and at 25 St James's Place from 1816 to 1844. From 1796 Burdett also maintained a residence in Wimbledon." One of their children became Angela Burdett-Coutts.

Member of Parliament for Westminster. A popular, reformist politician he often came into conflict with the House, on one occasion being imprisoned in the Tower for 2 or 3 months. Died at home, St James's Place.
