Sir John W. Simpson

Architect. Born Brighton (though the picture source has him born in Scotland). His father and brother were also architects. Active member of RIBA and its president 1919-21. Architect to the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn. Went into partnership with Maxwell Ayrton. Designed the Brighton War Memorial and Wembley Stadium. Extant buildings in London: 4 Millbank (with Ayrton); Herbert Schmalz's artist's studio in W14.

Died at home, West Hill, Highgate.
