Chancellor, Archbishop and Martyr. Born Cheapside of French parents. son of Gilbert Becket, mercer. Archbishop of Canterbury, 1162 to his death. Assassinated after his erstwhile friend, Henry II, declared "Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?"
