Abbey Tavern

Erection date: 3/12/1891

Inscription

This foundation stone was laid this 3rd day of December 1891 by Mr A.T.T. Cowling, in commemoration of the building of this house, known as The Abbey Tavern.
{initial? lost behind pipe} Alexander - Archt.
S. R . Lamble - Buildr.

Site: Abbey Tavern (1 memorial)

NW1, Kentish Town Road, 124

The plaque is not very interesting but the brickwork on this building is so attractive that we were glad to find an excuse to include it. The plaque names the architect: Alexander (that's the surname, the initial is lost behind a pipe).
