Acknowledgement
The placement of this monument was possible thanks to the cooperation of the authorities of the borough of Richmond upon Thames: Prof. Marcial Echenique: Gen. Roberto Arancibia and the Anglo-Chilean Society and the generous contributions of Dr Edward Haughey: Antofagasta Holdings: B.A.T Industries: Kleinwort Benson Group plc: Rothschild & Sons Ltd: United Distillers and Vintners: and the Chilean Army, Navy and Air Force.
This bust, erected 200 years after O'Higgins left Richmond, was designed by Echenique (the plinth and setting presumably) but, according to , the sculptor is unknown, which is odd for such a recently erected art-work.
