William Bligh R.N., F.R.S., who transplanted breadfruit from Tahiti to the West Indies lived in a house on this site 1785 - 1790.

Reardon Street was previously Broad Street. Bligh’s house is long gone and the plaque is on what was once the perimeter wall of Western Dock of London Docks. The wall has been reduced in height and behind it can now be seen a housing development.
