Plaque

Charles Lamb - 89 Chase Side

Inscription

Charles Lamb lived here October 1829 until May 1833.

Site: Charles Lamb - Chase Side (2 memorials)

EN2, Chase Side, 85 and 89

Number 89 is the house with the white porch on the left of the photograph, and number 85 is the white house with the green door.

says: "In September 1827 the essayist and poet Charles Lamb and his sister Mary came to live at the Poplars, Chase Side. The following month they moved to the house next door, lodging with the Westwood family for six years, after which they moved to Church Street, Lower Edmonton."  So the duration at Poplars, no 85, is a bit in doubt: one month or two years.
