Chelsea Embankment memorial - restored

Erection date: 1992

Inscription

Directorate of Highways and Traffic
Restored 1992
The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea

An unusually decorative and high quality plaque for such a mundane event. We don't know whether it refers to a restoration of just the memorial, or the garden behind, or even the whole embankment.

Site: Chelsea Embankment - Albert Bridge (2 memorials)

SW3, Chelsea Embankment, Albert Bridge Gardens

The lamp standard is one of a pair, the other being at Chelsea Old Church see there for some more information. The metal plaque is laid in the ground in front of the plinth.
