Site: Cricket World Cup victories - The Oval (1 memorial)

SE11, Harleyford Street, Pillar box by Rothesay Court

In July 2019 the that the Royal Mail was decorating 15 pillar boxes around the country. Each box would be painted white and given a plaque to commemorate the two cricket teams being simultaneous world champions. The white commemoration only lasted 3 months, after which the boxes returned to the traditional red, but the plaques are permanent.

Three of the boxes are in London: The Oval (this one); Lord’s; and a London location selected by Eoin Morgan, England Men’s captain (which we have yet to find).

We only heard about these pillar boxes after the 3 month window had closed but see our page for the one at Lord's where Google Maps has provided our image, luckily captured at the right time.
