De Havilland Heron
The aircraft on display is a De Havilland Heron with the registration G-AOXL of the Morton Airline which flew the last scheduled flight from Croydon to Rotterdam in September 1959 when the airport closed. In the 1950's Morton Air Services flew regular services to the European cities and the Channel Islands. This aircraft was purchased and restored by the Westmead Business Group after lying derelict at Biggin Hill for many years. Full technical details of the Heron are displayed in Airport House together with one of the Gypsy Queen engines.
