The first Asian elected to the House of Commons was Dadabhai Naoroji. He represented Central Finsbury for the Liberal Party from 1892 - 1895.

The plaque is incorrect in giving Thomas Cubitt as the designer. It was in fact the, unrelated, Sir William Cubitt.
