David Bailey, CBE, born January 1938. The celebrated artist and photographer was born in this house and lived here until 1941 before bomb damage to the adjacent site caused the family to move to East Ham.

Formed in 1965 from the joining of Chingford, Leyton and Walthamstow.

Wikipedia gives the architects as "Davis and Emanuel Pevsner". We believe the "Pevsner" to be an error, that has been widely copied.
