Dr John Snow - site of pump

Inscription

The red granite kerbstone marks the site of the historic Broad Street pump associated with Dr. John Snow's discovery in 1854 that cholera is conveyed by water.

Site: John Snow Public House (3 memorials)

W1, Broadwick Street

When we first published this c.2009, the pump was on the north-east corner of the Broadwick Street / Poland Street junction. 2018: reported that the pump has been reinstalled, so we took a new photo.
