She lived at this address with George Henry Lewes from early 1859 until late 1860, and supposedly completed ‘Adam Bede’ and wrote ‘The Mill on the Floss’ and ‘Silas Marner’ here. That's a lot of writing in less than two years. They moved from here to a large detached property in Marylebone.
