This plaque was placed here on Sunday 4 June 2000 by member of the Anglo-German Family History Society to remember over 17,000 German and other civilian prisoners of war interned at Alexandra Palace between 1914 and 1919, in particular those who died during that period.

N22, South Terrace

The plaques are on the south face of the tower, either side of the entrance. reported that in the WW2 Blitz (while BBC radio was off air) this mast was used to baffle the German bombers - "it transmitted in the right frequency range to confuse the navigators".
