Plaque

Giuseppe Mazzini - Hatton Garden

Erection date: 1912

Inscription

In this house Giuseppe Mazzini, the apostle of modern democracy, inspired young Italy with the ideal of the unity, independence & regeneration of his country.

{At the very top of the plaque:}
Dio e popolo Italia e Roma
{Translates as "God and the people, Italy and Rome"}

{At the bottom, either side of a handshake:}
1841 1912

Mazzini spent a lot of his later life in London, in various houses so perhaps "1841" is the year he lived in this particular house.
It's probably that "1912" on the plaque is the year the plaque was erected.
