This stone was laid by Miss Gracie Fields on the 17th day of June 1937.

True to form Gracie sang to the workman as part of the job. Photos at .

In our photo the Delfont plaque is just to the left of the white van, though when we photographed it it was high up on the building. Gracie's foundation stone is a little further to the left, close to the pavement.
