{Plaque on the left of the bust:}
This is a replica of the bust of Henry C. Stephens by H. H. Armstead, R.A. and was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1895. The original is at Cholderton Lodge and this replica was sculptured in bronze resin by Judy Wiseman of Nether Street, Finchley by kind permission of Henry Edmunds. The Stephens Collection acknowledge the grant from the Milly Apthorp Trust that enabled this replica to be made.

The bust is in the entrance to Stephens House. The original is at , the Hampshire estate which Stephens bought in 1885.

This building was Stephens' home, Avenue House. It is now known as , and contains a small museum. The Gardens contain a statue of Spike Milligan who lived locally and actively supported the local community.
