Henry VIII's breakfast

Erection date: 2014

Inscription

{Main panel:}
Henry VIII had a full English breakfast on this site.

{Small plaque:}
Henry did the 8th? by Artmongers
This bogus historical reference is here to make you doubt and think through an absurd claim. Cezanne once said 'painting is a lie that makes us see the truth'. In the same way, this artwork brings up the issue of how is history perceived in a neighbourhood that has very few traces left of its important naval past.
Also Henry's belly and cot {sic} piece might be making a reference to greed and the insatiable appetite of some to devour the world.
Paint on wood, 2014.
