Inscription

{On the plinth:}
Sir Hugh Myddelton - presented by the sculptor, F. G. Anstey

We could find no maker's mark on the statue itself.

Site: Hugh Myddelton - Town Hall statue (1 memorial)

N1, Upper Street, Islington Town Hall

The statue is in the the ground floor foyer, to the left of the staircase.

We can't find any explanation for this undated statue which appears to be a close copy of the one at Islington Green, but in much better condition, being inside. Why and when it was created, and how long it has been here - all unanswered questions.
