{Along the bevelled front of the granite trough which has been added to the foot of the WW1 monument:}
J. Lyons & Company Limited. These memorials were relocated from the J. Lyons factories at Greenford, Middlesex and rededicated by the Reverend Simon Downham on 7 October 2002. Their history can be found in the local Hammersmith library.

Erected by J. Lyons & Co. Limited in memory of the staff who fell in the Great War 1914 – 1918.

Possibly the granite trough added to the foot is intended to hold wreaths etc.
The only name out of sequence is T. Warman, which is at the end of the list. This suggests either an accidental omission which was spotted after the inscription had been created, or a very late notification/confirmation of the death.

This memorial was moved here from its previous location.
The J. Lyons WW1 memorial was originally erected and unveiled in 1922 at the Lyons Sports Ground, Sudbury Hill. There in 1947 the WW2 memorial was added. When that land was sold the double memorial was moved in 1968 to the grounds of the J. Lyons tea factory in Greenford. In 2001 it was moved again, to here, the Hammersmith Cemetery where it was rededicated on 7 October 2002.
In this last move some changes were made (compare with the photo at Greenford). WW2 memorial: some parts were removed; a new base and lintel were added. WW1 memorial: the granite trough was added.

In the absence of any indication to the contrary we've assumed all the names are male, though it seems unlikely that with such a high number of female staff J. Lyons did not lose any of them.
