Sure a poet is a sage a humanist, physician to all men.  John Keats, 1795 – 1821, apothecary, Guys Hospital, 1816.

The statue celebrates the life of the poet, who trained as a surgeon-apothecary at Guy's from 1815 - 16. It was commissioned to commemorate the life of Dr Robert Knight, who also trained and worked at Guy's. Keats was unveiled by poet laureate Andrew Motion. 2007.
Commissioned by Guy's and St Thomas' Charity.

The quotation comes from Keats’ epic poem "Fall of Hyperion. A Dream", 1819.
