Ladbroke Grove rail disaster - plaques

Inscription

{On the large plaque:}
This plaque was laid by the staff of Sainsbury's in memory of those who lost their lives in the Ladbroke Grove train disaster 5th October 1999.
"We will remember them"

{On the smaller plaque:}
Please remember in your prayers all those who died close to here in the train disaster of 5th October 1999 and their families and friends.
"May the road rise to meet them
may the wind be always on their backs
may the sun shine warm upon their faces
and the rain fall softly on their fields
and until you meet again
may God keep them in the hollow of his hand".

The plaques are located on a wall overlooking the site of the disaster. Unfortunately, they are only readable by risking the traffic on the busy road to and from the nearby branch of Sainsbury's. The verse is adapted from an old Irish blessing, which seems to be anonymous.
