The doors are labelled "Prince Edward Theatre", whose main entrance is in Old Compton Street.

No erection date is given but we've guessed that the work was done and the plaque erected in time for the Jubilee in 1977.
The front gable is decorated with the date of the building: 1883.
The flower on the plaque looks to us like a chrysanthemum but we don't know if it has any special significance.
In our photo the plaque can be seen low, to the right of the building, between the two spiky plants in square pots.
Watch-house, erected 1791, destroyed 1941, rebuilt 1962.
