W8, Holland Park

During this (the third) Lord Holland's time Holland House became a social, cultural and political hub, visited by, amongst others,: Byron, Macaulay, Campbell, Disraeli, Dickens, Scott.

The has a 1980 photo showing this statue, somewhere in Holland Park, but on dry land and on a different base. We wonder if the pond was created around it to protect it from vandals.
