Near this site stood the office of Mary Harris Smith FCA, the world's first female chartered accountant, 1844 - 1934.

The plaque was scheduled for unveiling on 5 May 2020, exactly 100 years since Harris had become a member of ICAEW, but the Covid pandemic caused that to be delayed a few months.
