Site: Mothers' Union (2 memorials)

SW1, Tufton Street, Mary Sumner House

The plaques are either side of the entrance in Tufton Street. A large decorative panel on the Great Peter Street corner reads: The Mary Sumner House 1925.

The says that the building was designed to be, initially, larger than they needed. Paul Waterhouse, son of Alfred, designed the chapel (shown on a 1961 .) The Union building was flooded along with lots of low-lying London in 1928 and served as an air-raid shelter in WW1.
