{On the front of the plinth:}
Admiral of the Fleet, the Earl Mountbatten of Burma, KG, PC, GCB, OM, GCSI, GCIE, GCVO,DSO, FRS, 1900 - 1979.

9 foot 5 inches, bronze on a plinth at the centre of a low stepped platform. Unveiled by the Queen.

This Green and the statue are totally inaccessible. Given the proximity to 10 Downing Street, the IRA mortar attack here in 1991 and what happened to Mountbatten, we can understand.
